Many scientists may hope to have the rare opportunity to work alongside a Nobel Laureate. Alan Enciso ’16 is living the dreams of many in a postdoctoral research position at Northwestern University under Sir Fraser Stoddart, a 2016 Nobel Laureate in chemistry.

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) chapter at TCU gives students interested in electrical engineering the opportunity to engage with each other outside of the classroom. Last year, IEEE President Mike Tran started a community outreach program teaching electrical engineering to Paschal High School students.

Jim Huffman, associate professor of professional practice in engineering at TCU, and founder of Beyond the Light Project, originally started out as a French major. But through some trial and error, Huffman shifted his studies to electrical engineering and found that he not only had the skills, but more importantly he had a passion for it.
