Risk Management and The Office of Research provides training and guidance on a number of laboratory topics including bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials shipping, chemical safety, biological safety, select agents and toxins, and controlled substances.
In addition to lab safety inspection, Risk Management also investigates laboratory incidents including fire, spills, laboratory injuries, and any chemical, biological, or radiological exposure.
Laboratory Safety training is required for all faculty, staff, and student prior to working in research or teaching labs. Training is assigned upon enrollment in a course that has a laboratory or research component.
When logging in if training hasn’t been assigned to you or showing up please contact email@example.com
Please also visit the Office of Research for other training requirements that may also apply depending on the hazards in the laboratory space.

Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
SDS's are a widely used system for cataloging information on chemicals, chemical compounds, and chemical mixtures. SDS information may include instructions for the safe use and potential hazards associated with a particular material or product, along with spill-handling procedures. The older Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) formats could vary from source to source within a country depending on national requirements; however, the newer SDS format is internationally standardized.
