CSE Honors Research Forum and Boller Award Competition Results
The CSE Honors Research Forum took place last Friday, April 14 and featured 38 presentations from students taking departmental honors. As part of the Symposium, CSE was tasked with selecting four student presenters to compete in the university-wide Boller Award Competition for Best Honors Presentation.
Twenty Years of Celebrating Student Research
This year marks the 20th annual Michael and Sally McCracken Student Research Symposium (SRS) for the College of Science & Engineering. SRS, held on April 28 from 11:30 a.m.–3:45 p.m., offers a professional, yet relaxed environment for students to present their research and mingle with various departments.
V.E.T.S. Connects Veterans and Military Students to STEM Programs
Veterans in Engineering, Technology, and the Sciences (V.E.T.S.) officially launched in 2020. This program connects veterans, military, and non-traditional students to STEM programs. In addition to initiatives to assist veterans in STEM programs at TCU, V.E.T.S. is focused on academic advising, internships, networking, and peer support.
CSE Peer Mentoring Program Launches in the Spring
The College of Science and Engineering will launch its Peer Mentoring Program in the spring. For the program, students have been selected from each department major to peer mentor other students. Peer mentors will provide a connection with prospective, first-year, returning, transferring, and underrepresented students in their transition to the TCU community by providing resources to increase their success and engagement with the University.
TCU STEM Organization Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month
SACNAS (Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) and SLA, two cultural organizations on TCU campus, hosted the Mexican Cultural Showcase on Sept. 25. The showcase brought many dances and performances from students and clubs on campus.
Campus Collaboration Benefiting TCU Engineering and Theatre Students
TCU’s Department of Engineering senior design team was tasked with designing, constructing, testing, and installing a dual concentric turntable stage for the TCU Department of Theatre.
