This fall, TCU and the College of Science & Engineering welcome Lee A. Knox as the new holder of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Professorship in Ranch Management. He brings to TCU a focus on resources and conservation.
“I’m excited and honored to join the TCU Ranch Management program as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Professor in Ranch Management,” Knox said. “The opportunity to mold the future leaders in the range livestock industry into conservation ranchers is amazing.”
Knox received his B.S. in rangeland ecology and management from Texas A&M University and his master’s in range science from New Mexico State University. Previously, he was a district conservationist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and served as a county extension agent for Texas A&M Agrilife Extension. Additionally, he is a certified and insured prescribed burn manager, licensed by the Texas Department of Agriculture and approved by the Prescribed Burn Board.
“It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that Mr. Lee Knox has joined the TCU Ranch Management faculty,” said Matthew Garcia, director and holder of the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show Professorship in Ranch Management. “Mr. Knox ‘s academic training and industry background in rangeland systems management are highly valued and will bring the TCU Ranch Management program to new levels and make our students even more valued by the agricultural industry post-graduation.”
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo endowed the professorship in 1990.
