First-Year Frogs Get an Inside Look at IBR

The Institute of Behavioral Research welcomed first-year TCU students to IBR during its Frogs First Open House, giving students an introduction to behavioral health research and the SOAR Lab. 

Students toured IBR, met research scientists and graduate research assistants and learned about SOAR Lab and opportunities to get involved in research during their time at TCU. Through SOAR, students can gain hands-on research experience, build skills that support their academic and career goals and connect with faculty and graduate student mentors.

“We loved introducing TCU’s newest students to the exciting research happening at IBR and SOAR! We hope they left feeling inspired to jump into research on campus, and we can’t wait to welcome them into SOAR,” said Stephanie Villaire, postdoctoral research associate, who previously worked with SOAR as a graduate student and now helps oversee the graduate students who lead the program.

The open house gave students a chance to ask questions, meet members of the IBR community and see what getting involved in research can look like firsthand.

The event officially welcomed another group of first-year Frogs to IBR, continuing to introduce TCU students to the opportunities available through SOAR Lab.
