  • Dr. José Carrión has been awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation to study Topological Invariants and the Classification of Nuclear C*-algebras.
  • Dr. Ze-Li Dou (TCU) holds two grants from the National Science Foundation. One with Dr. Liran Man (Miami U.) entitled Collaborative Research: IUSE: EDU: The AI Voyage: Integrating AI Literacy into Computer Science Curricula with Accessible Hands-On Learning Activities, and one with Drs. Richard Alexander (TCU) and Liran Ma (Miami U.) for Fire and ICE: Raising Security Awareness through Experiential Learning Activities
  • Dr. Greg Friedman jointly holds an National Science Foundation grant with faculty at Calvin University, Colorado College, Oberlin College, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to host an annual Workshop in Geometric Topology.
  • Drs. Travis Russell (TCU) and Adam Dor-On (Haifa) have received a grant from the Israeli-American Binational Science Foundation to work on Products of operator systems, non-locality and Factorization
  • Dr. Loren Spice’s work on Harmonic analysis, quasi-reductive groups, and complete reducibility is currently sponsored by the Simons Foundation

Dr. Qiao Zhang Publishes Book

Dr. Qiao Zhang of the Department of Mathematics published Automorphic Forms on GL(2)  through De Gruyter Brill Publishers in August of 2026. 

Over the summer, Dr. José Carrión co-organized and taught in the NSF-sponsored GOALS (Groundwork for Operator Algebras Lecture Series) summer program, which gives early-career grad students an accelerated introduction to an active research area, operator algebras. The program provided mini-courses, problem sessions, and expository talks, capped by a workshop with leading researchers.
In April, the TCU Math Department hosted the Texas Geometry and Topology Conference. 
Dr. Ze-Li Dou of the TCU Department of Mathematics recently served on a panel for the radio show, Spirituality, AI, and the Ancient Game of Go on Australia’s ABC Radio National.
