Disclosure Requirements for Academic Programs Leading to Professional Licensure

Licensure Requirements: Forty-seven states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia currently have statutory provisions regulating the dietetics profession or associated titles such as dietitian and nutritionist. Information on state licensure and certification is provided here as a service to current and prospective TCU Combined BS/MS in Dietetics Program (CDP) students. Licensure information is reviewed and updated on this site each year.

Students who successfully complete the TCU CDP are eligible to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians. After passing the Registration Examination for Dietitians, RDNs may seek licensure, if applicable.  In the state of Texas, after passing the Registration Examination to become an RDN, one may become a Licensed Dietitian. For more information about Texas State Licensure visit https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/diet/diet.htm.  If you intend to practice in any state other than Texas, you should contact the appropriate licensing agency to independently verify whether the TCU CDP satisfies the educational requirements for licensure in a particular state before beginning the program.
