Industrial Advisory Board
TCU Computer Science Industry & Government Advisory Board is to build a strategic, ongoing partnership between TCU Computer Science and leaders across industry and government to advance education, research, and workforce development in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
What the Board Does
For the University
The Advisory Board provides strategic guidance on technology trends, workforce needs, and research directions. It helps ensure that our curricula (undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D.) remain relevant, rigorous, and aligned with real-world demands.
For Students
The Advisory Board connects students with industry and government leaders through mentorship, engagement, and experiential opportunities. It offers insight into career pathways, hiring practices, and emerging fields, while facilitating internships, research opportunities, and full-time placement.
For Industry & Government Partners
Board participation offers direct engagement with a high-quality talent pipeline and early access to emerging graduates. Members help shape the future workforce, influence curriculum and research directions, and build meaningful collaborations with TCU faculty and students.

Members serve voluntarily and represent a cross-section of the Dallas–Fort Worth and national technology, aerospace and defense, energy, healthcare, retail, and consulting sectors.
Membership on the Advisory Board is by invitation. The department invites members in consultation with the Davis College of Science & Engineering, usually through an existing partnership with TCU Computer Science.
We look for members who:
-
Hold a senior technical or leadership role in a company or government organization, and can represent that organization's perspective
-
Bring a connection to Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas
-
Can attend board meetings (typically twice a year) and engage with students through mentoring, guest talks, capstone sponsorship, or recruiting
-
Help the Board reflect the breadth of the field, across sectors and areas such as AI, cybersecurity, and software engineering
Members usually serve a renewable multi-year term.
Interested in partnering with us? We'd love to hear from you. Most relationships with the department begin with one of the partnership opportunities below, and many of our board members started out as senior design sponsors or guest speakers. To start a conversation, contact computerscience@tcu.edu
