Research & Travel Support

Graduate students have the opportunity to seek research support via the College of Science and Engineering SERC program, which provides up to $2000 of funds. To be considered for funding, students must submit a short proposal summarizing their project and providing a detailed budget. Applications are accepted twice annually. Interested students are encouraged to visit the SERC website for current application deadlines and instructions.

The Department provides up to $1,300 of support for MS and PhD students to present their research at scientific meetings.  This support comes in part from the Clifford E. Murphy Memorial Fund and the Dr. Ray Drenner Biology Student Research Fund.  Students seeking support should work with their advisor to complete a travel request form prior to travel.
