Tim Schwartz is a chemistry major from Trabuco Canyon, California. Schwartz was the first author on the paper “Electronic influence of substitution on the pyridine ring within NNN pincer-type molecules,” published in the academic journal Dalton Transactions on January 28, 2020.
In the fall of 2019, Steve Weis, professor and chair of the engineering department, recognized the need for a new chemistry course and started developing it.

Many scientists may hope to have the rare opportunity to work alongside a Nobel Laureate. Alan Enciso ’16 is living the dreams of many in a postdoctoral research position at Northwestern University under Sir Fraser Stoddart, a 2016 Nobel Laureate in chemistry.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) chapter at TCU gives students interested in electrical engineering the opportunity to engage with each other outside of the classroom. Last year, IEEE President Mike Tran started a community outreach program teaching electrical engineering to Paschal High School students.
