The Mathematics Department consists of eighteen faculty members. Areas of research include real and complex analysis, algebraic geometry, algebraic topology and intersection homology, differential geometry, global analysis, harmonic analysis, K-theory, number theory, operator algebras, non-commutative geometry, operator theory, and representation theory. Undergraduate research is encouraged, with opportunities to present work at Parabola, the undergraduate mathematics club. A minor in actuarial science is available to interested students. Advanced seminars for faculty and students are scheduled each semester. The Frank Stones Research Lectureship Series provides opportunities for outside speakers to present their research on a regular basis.
