Students and professors in the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University are “Learning to change the world for children!” We are achieving that goal by providing excellence in education, research, and outreach to both the University and the global community. The Institute team is currently comprised of five full-time and adjunct professors, five doctoral students, and a dozen staff members participating in research, training and administration. Although a very young program, the Institute’s Child Development enrollment currently consists of 18 Child Development majors and over 100 Child Development minors. Active areas of outreach include development of interventions for at-risk children, especially children who are adopted or fostered after coming from "the hard places."
