The Chemistry Department consists of eleven full-time faculty including the Welch Chair in Chemistry. Recently the Department acquired a 16-node Linux cluster for research in computational chemistry. The cluster will be initially be used to calculate possible reaction mechanisms relevant to biorenewable feedstocks. Other areas of research in the Department include nanoscale biomaterials, macromolecular diffusion and crystallization, supramolecular and green chemistry, organometallic catalysts, natural product synthesis and methodology, biologically relevant organophosphorus compounds, drug discovery, bioorganic and protein medicinal chemistry, and inorganic polymers.
Degrees offered: B.A., B.S., M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. |
