Since 1968, the Institute of Behavioral Research (IBR) at TCU has been a leading, national research center for addiction treatment services in community and correctional settings supported through grants from the National Institutes of Health. Researchers are currently engaged in large multi-million dollar projects to improve the effectiveness of services for reducing drug abuse and other public health problems such as the transmission of HIV and additional infectious diseases related to drug use. IBR maintains a long tradition of excellence in training and mentoring future scientists through its alliance with TCU’s Ph.D. program in psychology. Graduate Research Assistants learn and participate in applied studies and field work that is conducted across the U.S.
